Effective design, branding, illustration, animation, motion graphics and advertising

I was born on 8th July 1974 in Mauritius. After high school, i went to Mumbai to study applied art for five years. Back to my home country in 2000, i worked for a few years before heading to London for a Masters in digital moving image at the London Metropolitan University.

My first piece of digital moving imagery reflects well the difficulty that most people doing the transition from the print medium faces. I had to acknowledge that all that holds true and works well for the print medium cannot be simply transferred to moving imagery at 25 frames per second on a screen. Accepting that the screen is a separate medium in its own right was the key i presume! Since graduation in Feb 2005, i've been teaching part-time and working for design studios, advertising agencies and television channels.

Over the years i gained the technical, conceptual and practical skills required for conceiving short films using a broad range of 3D and 2D softwares as well as live action.

For the past couple of years i have undertaken graphic design, branding, illustration, web design and animation jobs for various London based clients. Currently I'm doing freelance design work for the print, web and broadcast media under the quickpencil trading name.
